Musical Fountain, JP Park, Bangalore

                     The dancing and musical fountain is the main attraction of JP Park during the weekends. It is one of the most advanced dancing fountains in India based on multimedia technology. The fountain grid design, pumping system, hydraulic dancing mechanism and the controller electronics are all modular. The design is compact and works on re-circulated water. In this design, the consumption of water is kept very low, avoiding the need for large outlays in terms of water supply lines. The show timings depend on the season.

                       The Jayaprakash Narayan Biodiversity Park, popularly known as JP Park is located at the junction of Jalahalli and Mathikere. The park was developed by the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) on an 85-acre (340,000 sq.m) site in the north-west area of Bangalore at a cost of Rs.9 crores and is the biggest park in Bangalore after Lalbagh and Cubbon Park. The park has four lakes,lawns spread over 25 acres and over 250 varieties of trees and shrubs. The authorities have added many attractive structures and concepts keeping in view of the ideology of Jayaprakash Narayan. 

                     There are many other attractions in the park from pretty Gazebos to Stone Park, bamboo garden to life size dolls of farmers, labourers and cattle. Select exotic and aquatic species and nursery. There is a nature center, an exhibition plaza, rock garden and an amphitheater. In the heart of the park, there is a pond full of Indian Magur fish fighting for the food thrown by visitors to the park. The acupressure walk provide healing therapy to barefoot walkers and the music played along the route of the walk keeps the walkers energetic. The honge garden at the other end is like a tropical forest with dense trees and a canopy. The two water bodies of the lake 15 and 9 acres attract migratory birds like pond heron, coot hen, little cormorant, moore hen, pelicans etc. The park has three mini grooves called Nakshatra Vana, Rashi Vana and Navagraha Vana , together called Pavitra Vana . Plant/tree associated with each nakshatra and rashi are being grown there. The 4.5 km jogging track is abuzz with people every morning and evening. The mantaps at various corners of the park beside providing shade, is also the center for activities like yoga, laughter clubs etc.
