August 19, is observed worldwide as
World Photography Day every year. The birth of this day dates back to 1839,
while the evolution of camera come a long way after, with smart phones now
capable of shooting some of the most impeccable images.
“A photograph is a moment – when you press the button, it will never come
back,” said René Burri. Once photographed the fleeting moment gets frozen for a
lifetime. The photographs evoke memories and take us back to the past.
Earlier the film developer had the upper hand in
making the memories. Now it is the post processing, with Adobe leading the way.
Many photographs are now created with Adobe. Still a photograph is what the
photographer perception of the moment in his mind. Camera is just a tool. The
photograph of the same subject by different photographers illustrates each
one's perception of the subject.
